Australian native plant suggestions for shaded narrow garden bed

Location is common property in my complex but updating as its been neglected, looks crappy and someone has planted some kind of bamboo that has gone insane (im currently pulling out the roots)

Photo not sure clear but there is a narrow sleeper bed against the brick wall

I’d like to make the area look a little more green/modern with Australian natives but will need to keep it low maintenance and little to no watering plus there is shade to most of it. I was thinking Lomandra but what can I plant next to to add colour or just to break it up

Slanted sink making mixer angled - help

Welcome back to my first home with questionable upgrades done by previous renters.

I have a leaking Kitchen Mixer I need to replace the issue being the old skool sink is slanted where they installed the mixer so it leans forward. With hoping to renovate in the next 8 months I just need to install my new interim mixer and trying to rack my brains on what i can prop under the base to make it sit upright (it doesn’t matter if its obvious) any ideas? Thinking of seeing what kind of rubber washers/rings i can fine at Bunnings or get some black thin foam.

Tile removal for hybrid flooring

So I just had a trade speak to me like I had 0 brain cells so i’d like to ask you as i’m getting mixed responses online via google.

I’m pulling up tiles in kitchen/back hall and laundry they are currently laid ontop of a cement/chicken wire combo ontop of floorboards/stumps.

Do i need to remove said cement/wire to lay down a hydrid flooring ontop of original timber flooring or can I use whats there as a sub floor (cement)

(Don’t want to lay over tiles as they are already raised alot more then the rest of the rooms and they are busted in places.

Example photo of what i’m taking about incase its not clear! Ps this is NOT my photo/floor

Cheers!

Demolishing a kitchen space myself - Tips and Tricks

Hello!

So I recently obtained a quote for a kitchen and laundry cabinet update for my 80’s villa kitchen. As expected it’s $$, to save what the supplier noted as around 5k, i’m open to pulling cabinets down and removing my floor tiles myself etc (just me, no help)

I work in corporate so not a tradie at all but have done a bit of diy myself - question, what is generally needed to be done before a new kitchen install excluding trades (contacted for gas cap off/plumbing and electrician)

Any other tips or tricks appreciated

Kitchen Reno fixtures & appliances

Hello

I’m starting to put a ‘vision’ board/wish list together of kitchen fixtures i’d like to use in my kitchen reno.

  1. I’m quite keen on a touch sensor operated Tap, being a big cook - anyone got one - feedback?

  2. Ultimately I will discuss this with my cabinet designer but disadvatages of an oven placed in a cabient with a microwave above opposed to a free standing oven/stove combo? I’m just looking at creating more space and like the idea it’s at standing level. Looking at Westinghouse.

General processing times of job applications

Hi! First time applying for a government role as used to working for large corporates all my career.

I applied for a government role on the 15th of May and in my Job application profile it says ‘complete’ against the role and have heard nothing back either way.

Have I still got a chance ie are applications processed slowly in general or should I just move on as its prob a no?

Thanks

Government Roles

Hello, Currently employed but looking at other options. I applied for my first government role but i’m curious with the status on my profile for the tole says complete - does this just mean the process of me applying is done or I haven’t progressed? Also probably asking the unknown but how long does the process take? I applied 2 weeks ago. Thanks!
