Best Resource for Learning IPA Sounds

Hello all. I enjoy using ancient roots and things for creating new words for games and things I do, but I have never learned how to pronounce the specific letters in the IPA. The latest example is *heyos from PIE, where the h has a subscript 2 to the right of it. Looking up the IPA chart was not helpful for me. What would you guys suggest for understanding all the subscripts and other markings that determine pronunciation?

Reclaimer Campaign

Hey chooms! Was thinking about the concept of a Reclaimer campaign, where the characters are members of a new reclaimer community that is attempting to grow and thrive outside of the corporate-controlled sphere. They would be close enough to Night City to take trips there so that all of that doesn't just go to waste. How would you run this / what are some ideas you have on cool ways to engage with building this community besides making checks to repair a generator and fighting off Wraiths and the like? Thanks!

Hello all! Just seeking general advice for how to run an interesting jailbreak scenario. This would be the very beginning of the game, where the characters start in prison. Could be more than one session, we shall see. This is for a cyberpunk campaign, if that helps, but I'm just looking for how to make it cool and interesting and stuff to do in a general sense. Thanks :)

Hey chooms! With the Edgerunner's Handbook and its various side documents, it seems to me that the expectation is that you are either playing in a time shortly after the anime but before the videogame, or after the anime and in a version of the world where the videogame story never happened. Is this usually how all of you run 2070's and later games? Or, if you include V's story in the lore, do you just choose your favorite ending as the canon ending? Thanks!

Hi everybody! Been tinkering with the idea of a "good version of Maelstrom" gang for a bit. Like a Guardian-Gang that also tries to "chrome-the-f*ck-up" but in a safer and less insane way, and is inherently anti-maelstrom and anti-red chrome legion, etc etc. I was thinking maybe they could do this by having an in-house therapist that is required to go to, and maybe instead of psychotic cult-y rituals that Maelstrom does they do sort of "knightly" rituals that make the process seem more about improving your ability to protect others instead of protect yourself and hurt others. Let me know what you guys think I could do with this concept and if you have any creative names. The only thing I have thought of at the moment was "The Iron Guard" but that just doesn't hit like "Maelstrom" does. Thanks!

Hey everybody, hope this is the right subreddit for this. I have been getting into Cyberpunk RED after getting into the universe from Cyberpunk 2077. While there are no like explicit socialist orgs or decisions to make, I always got a big anti-capitalist vibe from everything inherently. But recently I have been reading through some of the books from Cyberpunk 2020 since RED does not have that many sourcebooks yet, and it seems very blatantly anti-socialist. I am reading Home of the Brave currently and it has Wyoming as a socialist state and goes on about how bad it is and how people are mistreated because of it, and theres other stuff as well like making the Soviets and Chinese seem very bad. Yet it will say things such as how the guy which did a military coup of the US government getting k*lled was tragic. Is it supposed to be written from a biased point of view and its not actually the view of the creators? I just imagined the creators of such an anti-capitalist game would have a more positive view of socialism.

Hey everybody! Just considering making a custom city and/or creating a Cyberpunk version of Atlanta since I'm in the Southeast US. Was wondering if there was any good information about how things are in Atlanta and/or how different it would be on the East coast versus being on the West with it being NUSA territory and all that. Also any resources or tips for creating cities with cyberpunk in mind. I would appreciate it, thanks! :)

Does anyone know if there are rules for jumping in front of someone to take damage yourself? Say you're a bodyguard or someone is attacking your mother, can you take the damage instead? Maybe if you have REF 8?

Hello everyone! Could anyone clarify how pop-up weapons work visually? Is there art of a pop-up heavy melee weapon? I'm just curious because heavy melee weapons can be like katanas, which definitely cannot fit inside of any non-gigantic person's forearm. Just looking for if I'm not imagining it correctly and if there is reference art for it. Thanks :)
