Okay - you can go back to your office

I was in the break room setting up a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast for a new hire. My receptionist ordered bagels, and my boss walked in asking why we didn’t have poppy seed bagels. I explained we ordered the baker’s dozen and those weren’t included. Then she asked why we didn’t have enough cream cheese, and I told her I didn’t place the order. We had one tub, but nearly empty. After a few awkward moments, she goes, “Okay, you can go back to your office now.” I laughed and said, “I don’t want to go back to my office yet — I’m not ready to work and I’m not ready for my office with no natural light.” She laughed a little and completely changed the subject by asking about my weekend.

Just tired of bosses acting like they care about employees when most of the time they really don’t.
