How many more people have to disappear from Sadhguru‘s ashram before questions are answered?
A resident swami associated with Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation reportedly disappeared in 2023 and, according to police status reports filed before the Madras High Court, has still not been located.
This wasn’t a tourist.
This wasn’t a casual visitor.
According to the records, Swamy Bavadutha had been associated with the ashram since around 2007 and had lived there for many years.
The police report states that on February 28, 2023, he left the ashram, leaving behind his phone. After that, he was reported missing.
Authorities reportedly questioned witnesses, reviewed CCTV footage, conducted searches, followed leads, and checked hospitals and multiple locations.
Yet years later, there appears to be no confirmed sighting, no confirmed explanation, and no public resolution.
Regardless of anyone’s views on Sadhguru or Isha Foundation, isn’t this a legitimate question:
What happened to Swamy Bavadutha?
If a long-term resident of a major spiritual organization disappears and remains missing for years, should there not be greater public attention and transparency surrounding the case?
I am genuinely interested in understanding whether there have been any credible updates that explain what happened.
