Hi folks,

I'm in 3rd year and my history teacher (who is predominantly a music teacher) was asking me if I was planning on doing music for the leaving as I had brought my guitar into school. She was recommending it to be as a subject that might be a little more chilled out as I'm quite academic. I haven't considered it until now but was wondering how difficult it might be to catch up on music theory. She said the school may run a music class for TYs who didn't do music for the JC next year but it may not go ahead.

For context, I play guitar but know next to nothing about music theory or reading sheet music or any of that. My teacher said I'd have a huge advantage already knowing how to play an instrument but I want to know if any of you have done this and how difficult it may be.

Thanks in advance!
