Hello. New gardener here. My young lavender plant I bought a couple weeks ago has become dry and brown at the bottom and is spreading up the stems.

It gets plenty of sun and I tried not to water it too much, though may have done so by accident. It's in a big pot with cactus/citrus soil.

Is this root rot? Can I save it or is it too late? Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
