There's something really frustrating about how the Kacey Musgraves at Gruene Hall went down. Entry was advertised at $65. People showed up, logged in right at 10:00 AM like they were supposed to, did everything "right" and still never even had a real shot. Sold out instantly.
Now the same standing room entries are sitting on third party-sites for disgusting increases.
That's not demand-that's a broken system.
It shuts out the very fans who made artists like Kacey who they are in the first place. Regular hardworking people who just want to see a show at a historic Texas venue shouldn't have to compete with bots and resellers flipping an opportunity for 10X the price.
There's nothing authentic or "live music culture" about that. It's just scalping with better technology.
At some point it has to be called what it is: unfair, and honestly, pretty shameful for Gruene Hall and Kacey Musgraves to lower themselves to this level.
I will take my daughters somewhere else to listen to somebody else ....
