Per title, I’ve been on a temporary assignment for a a few months managing a work stream focused on accelerating work in flight, AI opportunities, data, defects/bugs and overall performance management. It’s a bit horizontal across my boss’ entire oversight, so working with and through peers and their teams to get updates, remove hurdles and expedite. I still have a team of product managers working on “normal” product work but I’m also doing this, am I working in a chief of staff capacity and should I lean in or be afraid?
Context: large corporation, boss has multiple layers of leaders/teams under them and an expanding scope.
