Getting out of hospital after 8 weeks
Tomorrow I am finally leaving the hospital after a catastrophic semi truck accident in which I was ejected from my rig. My upper body (brain&spine) came out unscathed, however below the waist was not. I have multiple pelvis fractures, a broken femur, broken tibia, shattered both knee caps, a shattered ankle and lisfranc mid foot fracture.
Currently still in an incredible amount but of pain even with 45mg of MS Contin 4x daily with 15mg of Oxy every 4 hours. What are my chances on asking for a bump on either of those meds since I will have be forced to increase mobility being home? I can hardly get through a half an hour of PT without spending the rest of the day trying to get the pain under control.
I also was told it will only be a 3 day supply and will be scrambling to find someone to continue the regiment and I am extremely nervous about that as I don’t even have a PCP.
I was originally on 30mg of methadone 4x daily for 5 weeks had to switch to MS Contin and this doctor refuses to give me the morphine equivalent dose to the methadone.
