Help with choosing between 2 amps
Hey guys, I wanted to get y’all’s opinion on this.
I have been playing bass for like 7 years and I’ve had a 50W orange crush amp. It’s definitely done me well but I’m in need of some extra juice nowadays. So I’m looking at getting something bigger. I play with 2 bands and sometimes can’t hear myself. Also wanted to get an amp with a DI so I didn’t have to buy one…
I’ve played a bunch of different amps at gigs, and played Ampeg and Markbass amps I really liked .
Right now I’m stuck between the Ampeg BA-210 and the Markbass JB player’s school 1x15 150W amp. They are both used in really good condition and for the same price of $350.
I don’t mind carrying around larger amps, but definitely want a combo amp. I like the Ampeg and the Markbass sound honestly with my previous experiences with them. I have an empress compressor and a Boss GE-7 eq I’ll be using in my board with these along with some other stuff.
I play country punk and I play rock music. I honestly feel like both of them would treat me well but I’m leaning to the Ampeg because it would let me add a cab to it if one day I wanted to upsize again.
Does anyone have thoughts on which might be better?
