first party gamecube controller used through third party adapter won't rumble?

i set the adapter to wii u mode and followed all of the setup using zadig to get the right drivers and the controller input works fine but rumble just doesn't activate. i know for a fact this controller has a rumble motor inside so i don't know if i followed the setup instructions wrong or what

im doing this for an introductory data analytics final where you have to make a binary logistic regression model that uses these exact variables to predict SpecialtyDummy but the model decided to only use the constant and classify every case as negative which is very unhelpful
