I have a number of outdoor plants, most of which I’ve inherited from the previous tenant of my flat. A couple seem diseased, and others I’m not entirely sure how/when to prune or care for. Can anyone please advise?
A) 2x cypresses glabra blue ice - seem to be diseased. They were much more full when I got them, now after pruning back diseased limbs and making it less dense for easier drying, I’ve found it’s persisted. Now literal black sticky spots have come back, I see some ants on one at least, and it’s making some limbs die it seems. Are these goners? What do I do to try and salvage them?
B) Separately, I have this other tree that seems dead up top but is generating buds from the trunk. I’m not sure what kind it is but the previous tenant said it was super resilient and would generate oranges or something like that? I pruned drastically many of the dead branches (it was clearly never pruned before) but now many of the remaining branches look dead too. I was questioning if the whole thing is dead but now I have buds on the trunk, and the bark of some of the bigger inner branches looks more healthy. Can I prune this back now to only those nubs? Or is timing off? I don’t want to shock it too much because I pruned pretty drastically about a month ago.
C) I have a tiny blue spruce (?) that seems healthy but has some browning in the center / bottom. Is this normal?
D) yucca - looks like it’s seen better days. Maybe needs better drainage? Any tips?
E) I believe this is a cherry blossom / ornamental prunus since it had pretty white / pink flowers not long ago before this phase. I’ve read I shouldn’t prune the dead offshoots yet to lessen risk of disease but would like confirmation since they’re ugly. Also, can I train the branches shapes with soft wire or something like that?
F) I’m not sure what this vine like plant is growing up the lattice but a lot was dead and I snipped it, now it’s growing back. Any tips?
G) this Clematis seems fully dead. This is a weed growing in its pot right?
H) these spider plants were indoors but I heard they could be outdoors through spring / summer. Why are they turning reddish?
