Hey everyone,

I’m 20 and recently did some work for a Canada-based startup. They’re now sending me payment through an international transfer service.

I just wanted to check a few things:

• Is it generally safe to receive money from abroad like this?
• Are there any risks I should be aware of?
• Do I need to pay tax on this if it’s a small amount (around 50CAD)?
• Does it count as freelance income or something else?

I haven’t received international payments before, so just trying to make sure everything’s okay and I’m not missing anything important.

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences.
