So I am wanting to get back on the pill. Buuuut the last few times I’ve been on the pill it has affected my mood drastically. I was previously on Yaz (did not know it was Yaz at the time) and I ended up with major depressive/scary episodes right before my period. Other pills (regrettably I cannot remember the names) either made me bleed too much or way too little to where I would question if it was a period at all. I’m currently on Citalopram 20mg once daily, and I’m looking to discuss a weight loss regiment and/or medication with my doctor. Could the citalopram be causing me issues with the pill? Do weight loss meds affect birth control and/or antidepressants? And if so, has anyone had any experience with these issues or something similar and found a route towards a solution? Ultimately I just want advice, and if these types of medications interact negatively together I want to be able to understand and advocate for myself while discussing with my doctor to find the right path for me.
