Hi, as title says I'm new to this. I've searched the internet but still want advice before I start. Context: I'm buying a piece of secondhand furniture and planning to stain it - renting a sander, probably semi-transparent water-based, probably a conditioner but undecided. I'm in a studio apartment. Don't know type of wood.
What PPE is crucial if I do it indoors? It would be much harder to find outdoor space to do it/leave it to dry. I have windows and a ceiling fan (no portable fan).
Tips for water-based stain? I have to sleep in the same room (hence leaning towards water-based for faster drying). It's not a fancy or investment piece so I'm fine with any semi-decent results.
