I will accept any recommendations, just make sure to include the name of the book and its genre. I prefer fiction, but I'll read nonfiction if it's interesting. I haven't really read much since highschool, I used to read everything from Gregor the Overlander to Harry potter to Percy Jackson. I used to read literally all the time. Recently I went to my local library, and all I could pick out to read was a book I read back in highschool called "Gone" by Michael Grant. It was good even in a second read, especially since I can better understand the horrors of their situation. But I want something new that I haven't read before. I'm a stay at home mom now, and I'm tired and spending all my free time on my phone. I'd like to find something more engaging to do, and model better habits for my kids. So hit me with whatever you got! Traditionally I've always liked high paced stories with a lot of shock factor, but I would also like to start getting into books that are better for expanding my knowledge, like historical literature or even fiction novels that make you really sit with yourself and think like The Giver.
