Choosy Dog Moms Choose Jif!

So i just dropped 12 lbs and am shopping for groc eries online and see the 5 star review for Jif No Added Sugar peanut butter. Trying to be as healthy as I can and looking at what other Target shoppers have commented.

She starts the review by stating she and her hubby both choose Jif, as well as the grandkids. Fair enough. I'm almost SOLD..until..she adds that her doggo suffers from congestive heart failure(is it the peanut butter?!)and she hides its pills in the peanut butter morning and night.

"He loves it..." she writes. I'm super grossed out now and hope this review doesn't destroy my will to continue my Elvis sammich addiction.

Parents, grandparents charged after 7-day-old baby mauled to death by family dog

https://www.foxcarolina.com/2026/06/16/parents-grandparents-charged-after-7-day-old-baby-mauled-death-by-family-dog/

No mention of what breed the dog is. This happened a couple wks ago in South Carolina. It had a prior history of biting people. The dog was named....CHOMP!!???

"Family described Chomp as being gentle with Jason, saying he would rock the baby’s bouncer and “love” on him, court documents show. But they also said he was a jealous dog who was often aggressive toward other animals and had bitten people before."

Michigan parents charged with murder after 7-year-old son dies at 255 pounds

Michigan parents charged with murder after 7-year-old son dies at 255 pounds | Fox News

I'm a true crime fan and started reading this story trying to understand how a kid gets this large due to neglect. I wonder if it was a situation where they should have put locks on the fridge. Further down in the article, it's mentioned the children only went to the doctor once in their life, despite having healthcare. On the day the 7-yr old died from complications of morbid obesity, the parents called the veterinarian because the DOG was sick!!! I'm speechless.

2030: Year of the Metal Dog.

Today I realized how much it annoys me that a dog is chosen as an animal mascot for the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The last year of the dog was 2018 and was an "Earth Dog." Of course the elements are wood, water, metal, earth and fire. Dogs aren't even a strong part of Chinese cultural identity; unless you consider their place on the menu in many northern restaurants where it is considered a preventive of succumbing to the dangerous cold that affects the region.

I can think of so many more noble creatures that could replace this spot on the Chinese Zodiac. How about a panda? What about a fox? The World Cup is celebrated every four years and the Chinese Zodiac rotates every twelve. At the end of this month of June, Mercury will be in retrograde. I'm not an astrologist but I'm pretty sure this means chaos.

Everyone get your ducks in a row, so to speak. Don't take any wooden nickles. And get ready for the incoming YEAR of the NUTTER!
