Are you for or against banning adults 18-20 from purchasing tabaco and alcohol, although they can be charged as adults/ take on debt / join the military?

Fairly straightforward. There are relatively few countries - which sell alcohol - and ban it for those under 21.

Options for hummingbird focused bed N Ohio?

I am looking to add a bed focused on hummingbirds. While there are quite a few natives I can use - I already have most of them - anise hyssop keeps popping up as the most attractive plant for hummingbirds; I realize it is not native. Are there options out there others have used which work as well that I have missed

EDIT: I am trying for plants which are perennials do not massively resseed, and can stay fairly slumped. I realize this eliminates many plants, but it is based on where the bed is. I already have columbine, liatris, penstemon, and coneflowers.

If you tailgate, why?

I was on somewhat of a rural road and this vehicle quickly came up and got so close I could barely see the top of the grill. She drove this way for about a mile before finally backing off (I was driving about 7 miles over the speed limit). I am really trying to understand why some feel the need to drive so closely to the vehicle in front of them which really increases the potential for a crash.

Can You Really Multitask?

I do not mean something like playing catch and having a conversation but truly thinking of two different things at the same time. My answer is no.

Is this the beginning of the end for Russia?

The primary reason Putin has been able to continue the war with Ukraine he has not experienced major backlash from the citizens and oligarchs. It has been over 20 years since the last time Russia has imported a significant amount of gas and / diesel / jet fuel. However, Ukraine has successfully been targeting Russian refineries. Now, not only are there shortages, but pricing has also really started to increase. I have thought more than once - outside of a Russian victory - the only way the invasion ends are if the public and oligarchs became unhappy and pressured Putin. This is really the first time the vast majority are experiencing any real negative effects from the invasion. Thoughts?

Edit: I should be clearer in that I am speaking about Putin specifically and the war with Ukraine, not Russia as a country.

Is the animated Spaceballs show that bad?

I decided to give it a try and watched the first episode. It was not very good. Any opinions on the season overall?

Is it past time to reform the Jones Act?

Personally, I have felt the Jones Act has needed reformed for decades. While it had good intentions, the result has been a decrease in the number of qualified vessels to operate under the Jones act; we dropped from 193 to 93 vessels as of 2025. Clearly, the development and maintenance of a robust maritime industry have come up short. Further, it has hurt the economies of US states and territories. Some examples: Puerto Rico imports quite a few goods (ex: large machinery / construction equipment); Hawai'i (steel product / lumber). California is even benefiting from the waiver with multiple oil products / gasoline being sent to the state from other US ports.

I am not saying the Jones Act should be completely repealed, but I do think there should be some reform. I would start with an exemption when Jones Act compliant vessels are not available. Additionally, allow foreign‑built vessels to operate in U.S. domestic trade if they meet U.S. safety standards, especially for allied countries. I would also propose close loopholes that allow Jones Act ships to undergo major repairs in China and instead allow work in Japan or South Korea. The last one was part of a bi-partisan bill in 2025. Sadly, none of them have gained any traction in Congress.

Moving: Not a DC or Marvel superhero show.

I came across this Korean show when it was renewed for S2 and I am hooked. It does start a bit slow for the first couple of episodes, but then it really takes off. The storyline really improves when it focuses more on the adults versus the children (not looking to ruin anything). Even if you are not interested in superpowered individuals, you might be interested in this one. I truly believe each episode improves over the previous one.

Anyone else try it?

I love period pieces, and with some of the actors involved in this show, I decided to give it a try. I was not a big fan of the first 2-episodes - I thought E3 was really good - while E4 & 5 seemed to have even more "angst" than the first two episodes. I was wondering if the season finale improves or stays the course.

Sorry about the "lesson" instead of "lessen" as would be proper. Stupid auto-correct.
