[DISCOVERY] Is fear really 50%? I tested it!
Many people keep asking me how fear is actually calculated in the game and if it is really 50%. I sometimes thought not.
Like any good developer, I went to find out myself.
TL-DR: Indeed it's 50%
I won't go into too many technical details, but I basically mapped out all the numbers the game generated when calculating whether fear would proc or not.
I mapped number generated + result.
I played with lamasu in the doom tower (to not wast energy ofc) and mapped several rounds of opponents under fear debuff.
What I checked was the highest number and the smallest number for proc and non proc. With this we can have an idea on what's the odd of it.
- Highest number that proc: 0.450426
- Smallest number that NOT proc: 0.500276
With this we can assume that:
- Number below 0.5 = fear proc
- Number above 0.5 = fear in the proc
Basically this answers the question.
