I’m looking for some advice/experiences from other people with epilepsy and birth control.

I’m currently on Lamotrigine, so I can’t use estrogen-based contraceptives because of the interaction risks. I currently have the implant, but I’m considering getting it removed because it’s not really working for me anymore.

I’d really appreciate hearing what contraception options have worked for other people on lamotrigine, especially non-estrogen methods. Did changing contraception affect your seizure control, mood, or side effects at all?

Obviously I’ll speak to my neurologist/doctor before changing anything. I just want to hear real experiences from people in a similar situation.
