Should I enroll in backup section or stay #1 on waitlist?

I need some advice 😭 I’m graduating this semester and BUS1-170 (Fundamentals of Finance) is the last class I need.
I’m currently #1 on the waitlist for a Wednesday section (Wednesday fits better with my schedule since I commute), but there’s another section on Thursday from 6:00–8:45 PM that currently has only 3 seats left.
I’m planning on going to the Wednesday class tomorrow and asking the professor if they can give me a permission/add code since I’m graduating.
My questions are:
- Should I enroll in the Thursday section now just to guarantee myself a spot?
- If the Wednesday professor gives me an add code tomorrow, can I use Swap in MySJSU to switch from the Thursday section to Wednesday using the code?
- Would being enrolled in the Thursday section cause any issues with the professor trying to add me to Wednesday?
- Has anyone done this before with BUS1-170 or another SJSU class?
I really don’t want to lose the Thursday seats and then find out I can’t get into Wednesday either. 😭 Any advice would be appreciated!

BUS1 170 add codes?

Does anyone know of any BUS1 170 professors who are usually willing to give out add codes or let students in if the class is full? I’ve emailed a few professors but haven’t heard back yet.

Need advice — graduating this semester but waitlisted for required Finance class

I’m supposed to graduate this semester, but I have to retake a Finance class (BUS1 170). I wasn’t able to register until July 29th, and by then there were no open sections available.

I’m currently #1 on the waitlist for one of the sections. I’ve also emailed about 4 professors about possibly getting an add code, but I haven’t gotten a response yet.
I’m getting really nervous because this is one of the last classes I need to graduate.

Does anyone know what I should do in this situation? Should I contact the Finance department, keep waiting for the professor, or is there anything else I can do to make sure I’m able to graduate this semester?
