Hello! I'm ready to hire tutors for my business....super exciting! I can't hire tutors as contractors, so everyone has to be w-2 unfortunately (california). I'm looking at using Freshbooks as my payroll system. I guess my question is....if you hire tutors (w-2) and use a payroll system, do you have a certain number of hours you want your tutors to be able to work? What do you do if they're not longer on payroll? Is it a lot to take them off and then add them on when they're available or you need them again? I just hate paying for employees on payroll, when they might not be working.
