What do we think will be announced next?

We’ve got, by my count, 6 theatres with no occupants this fall: Hirschfeld, Lunt-Fontanne, Barrymore, Booth, Hayes, and Majestic. I’m not counting the Hudson because if non-Daniel Radcliffe actors can move tickets, it’ll keep running. Not counting the St James because it seems that’s where Evita is going. What do we think is coming in and where? Dolly? Purple Rain?? Dreamgirls??? Paddington???? Will the popularity of DWP2 mean that we get a Devil Wears Prada transfer?????

Buena Vista Social Club Dance-Along performance

We bought tickets before we knew it was a dance-along, and honestly I didn’t know how my husband was going to react. Several couples were dressed out for it, including a May/December couple in box seats - him in a white suit and her in a red dress. It started at least 10 minutes late, but began with John Leguizamo introducing the idea - at certain moments house lights would come up and you were encouraged to stand and dance/vibe at your seat - not full aisle dancing. It was probably only 3 songs in each act, which feels like the right number. Not too many but also not too few. So many in the crowd knew the songs and sang along, but the energy was electric - very much like a concert. There was, to be expected, some talking during the transition from standing to sitting, but it wasn’t too distracting and the actors did a great job of holding til the house settled a bit. It was honestly a really fun way to experience the show. This was probably our last visit because now that I’ve been able to stand up and dance to Candela I’m not sure I could stay in my seat next time! So if you have the chance and you’re on the fence, go. It’s a blast. And definitely go while Natalie Venitia Belcon is still in - she was great the first time but she’s even looser and freer now. She is a treasure!!💃
