ANYWAY I am back with so so many tapes, some common, some super rare, some not TECHNICALLY visual kei but I will review them anyway, and two items I can’t even play because I don’t own a betamax or laserdisc player!!! (Yet). But that is okay. Whatever. Who give a gaf. (I’m still reviewing the video I just watched a rip of it). shoutout to the ADF u/analdongfactory for being my supplier. I now have too many tapes to fit on my main bookshelf😋.

schaft: ouuhhhh my god ive been wanting a copy of this forever. Schaft is so very special to me because Imai is my favorite buck tick member and I always love the side projects where you get to see what the buck tick members make when they aren’t under the reputation OF being buck tick, hope that made sense. I would really love to see anybody on the stage but they have a total of 3 lights on the stage :/. you see some good lighting after a few songs and see Imai and Maki Fujii's beeaaautiful faces, Raymond Watts does great on vocals as usual. Not sure why he’s not credited with that appearance on Discogs, maybe I’ll fix it if I feel like it. I love you Raymond watts, you are my favorite honorary bandman. It’s hard to believe this tape was released in 1994 just a few months before the release of buck tick’s six/nine. Now all I need is for whoever has the Schwein tapes to give them all to me. you give tape me rip tape put online everyone enjoy tape enjoy Schwein peace and love on planet earth.

Kamaitachi: omg I can’t believe I haven’t engaged with this band before!! I love how they all look soo much. This is a mixture of live music and music video. They went to New York for some reason, awesome sauce. I love their mascot and the way they put English subtitles for one of the songs. Ok back to the visuals oh my goddd I am in lauveee I love finding a new okeshou style band and I love the glam rock style of music. I also love that gay little frog they use as a mascot.

LAREINE: a cutieful compilation of 1998-1999 tour footage, at least it was until the music cut out and returned with the most dramatic credit sequence in any of my collection. This could have been a YouTube video if it wasn’t 1999, I said it I'm sorry.

LAREINE (grand pain): holy wow kamijo your eyes are soooo blue. He’s so suited up too??? Also where is the rest of the band in this pv😭it was like all kamijo and this one woman. The Lareine tapes are quite short so I do apologize if I don’t have much to say but I don’t have any full performances…yet….who wanna sell me a full Lareine live tape…. I have $5 take it or leave it.

Blankey jet city - candy or hell video clips 2: English words are definitely being used yes. The second music video derringer has an extremely similar theme and setting to malice mizer’s beast of blood pv. The lead singer has a very unique voice and I love their music so far and so much, the art direction of all the pvs is so nice, all credits to the director. Looking forward to consuming more of their music in the future. And WHOEVER owned this tape before did NOT be kind and rewind.

Earthshaker aftershock: oh my good gracious I love earthshaker so much. If you like okeshou or glam rock and you haven’t gotten into them PULEASE do. Ugh they are so much fun in their live shows I love bands that interact with each other and the cameras on stage. Also fun fact!! Toshi, on keyboards was also in NOVELA before he was in earthshaker. Marcy has an amazing stage presence and voice, I’m glad to see he’s doing well lately and still performing!

Earthshaker live in budohkan: no the H is not a typo, that’s what the box says. I have actually listened to this performance before I got this tape since earthshaker puts their shit on streaming, and this live has its own live album!! Have you guys ever heard More. If no, fuck are you doing. Go listen to the live in budokan version too it’s so dramatic. I desperately need to acquire a betamax player because whoever uploaded the rip I’m watching had to have gotten their recording software out a cereal box. You can vaguely make out the shape of Marcy. (MOTTO!!!! MOTTO!!! KODOKU YO ODORE!!!!!!). but I don’t just like More, my favorite songs on this setlist are ざわめく時へと and Take my Heart (TAKE MY HEARTTT!!!)

BUCK-TICK catalogue 1987-1995: got this for collections sake and it has some content that is not on my self titled tape (any stuff from sexual! Is completely cut even though they could have made a tape with ALL of their pvs from debut to 1995 no issue, I own tapes that are longer than this one so I don’t???? See the issue????? So if you want a music video tape but don’t want to get both self titled and catalogue it comes down to if you want their 80s stuff or not. I think it’s nice to finally have the darker than darkness and six/nine singles on vhs.

Malice mixer - sans retour Voyage “derniere” ~encoure una fois~: holy title. Can yall be normal? This was sealed, whether it was the store or factory packaging I DON’T CARE!! I tore that shit open immediately because I collect media to watch and keeping it in wrapping is useless. While Klaha is my favorite era from mm, I do enjoy the gackt era stuff, especially the costumes! Kami’s outfit from this performance is one of my favorites and speaking of kami, the regret duet is on this tape!! Ending with ma cherie is always a gay ol time oh happy happy me weeeeeee

Billy and the sluts - One (~Just The Way You Are~): I love the sluts. If you aren’t down with the sluts what are you doing???? Sometimes I think I’m the only BATS fan in the whole US, idk what it is about them but I love it, I love the sluts guys!!!! I LOVE THE SLUTS!!!!! None of them are named billy btw. So they are all the sluts. Another okeshou band I absolutely love. one day I will see them live

Kabuki rocks - live in zipang: OOH MOLDY MOLDY MOLDY EW EW EW. I finally have the vhsislife mold vacuum to fix it but I cannot be bothered I just finished finals. And I know what some of y’all are about to say BUT KABUKI ROCKS ISNT VISUAL KEI!!! SHUSH!!! THIS IS MY POST GO MAKE YOUR OWN TAPE TIME. IN ALL SENSES OF MUSIC STYLE AND VISUALS THEY ARE, THEY JUST NEVER SAID IT. They are like a blend of wafuu and okeshou kei for visuals. If you have been around me at all you have heard about them from me. NOBODY ELSE TALKS ABOUT THEM. Most of the concert there is the big ass dragon head moving around and then the lead singer(Ujigami) gets on it. Boy get down. The costumes are always sooo much fun and really elaborate, so there isn’t much choreography. You guys just have to trust me Kabuki Rocks is such a good band. Penicillin - human doll video box: haha guys look at my video box with an autograph from all the members and it still has the stickersss look I even took an extra photo of the card gaze at my vast wealth. My favorite pv on the vhs I got from my penicillin human doll video box is Tsumetai Kaze. Hakuei is so beautiful I especially love how he looks on my penicillin human doll video box. Penicillin - Indwell video box: my very first laserdisc hooray!!! I still can’t find a player for a reasonable price!! Indwell’s laserdisc box seems to have no information at all! No Discogs page, no vkgy page! I know this is an obscure medium but damn😭. I’m going to make an incredibly specific reference now. The way I felt listening to the title track vs the rest of the album must have been extremely similar to when people saw the album cover to meat loaf’s bat out of hell and bought it not knowing it was pop rock. I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT BEING CATFISHED THAT WOULD IMPLY THERE WAS NOTHING GOOD. I WAS JUST SURPRISED THAT THE REST OF THE ALBUM SOUNDED LIKE THAT AFTER THE TITLE TRACK!!!

La la lalalaaalive report. JILUKA'S ATLANTA SHOW! HOLY SHIT!!! YES I TOOK THE HIDE PLUSH AGAIN HE WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE THEM AGAIN. So many people had their favorite character plushies it was so cute, love yall.

One big warning before i go into all this. I did not comprehend a single song lyric this entire show. Do not ask me what songs i liked i was too busy having fun and headbanging my way to a tension headache.

First off, let's talk the openers. TSS, the sunday sadness. Now, my friends and i were getting quite antsy as we had to stand for a whole hour after the doors open before they went on. We also genuinely thought TSS stood for toxic shock syndrom. THE SUNDAY SADNESS. I AM SO SORRY FOR DOUBTING YALL. My eyes and ears were blessed. I really did try to get a good look at them but unfortunately a wall of 6'5 men were all standing side by side so i couldn't see SHIT. Music really did it for me. Please release a cd, vinyl, whatever analog medium i can adapt to anything just put a physical release in my hands right now. I will definitely be keeping up with them now. TSS if you are reading this please keep coming back to georgia. You are so beautiful and your music is so good. I am just so fucking peeved about not being able to see that i can't recall many details😮‍💨

VCTMS were a fun bunch! I loved their drummer so much she was soooo cool that for like an hour after the show i was convinced i should learn drums😭. The guitarist was so fun to watch as well! A bit biased as he was on stage left where i was standing😋. Also they played the pokemon theme song before the band came out and the vocalist mid set opened a pack of pokemon cards and threw them out to the audience. I did not catch one he opened but i did leave a tip for that autographed celebi in my photo! Great show! Please keep coming back!

Jilukaaaaa. Jiluka. I really love jiluka. Which may come as a shock to some as i love old school, okeshou, and a glam rock sound. But jiluka can really put on a show, I'm not even into their type of metal like that. Half of the reason i come to these shows is because they are the ONLY visual kei band that will consistently play in georgia, and for that they are very dear to me. Since i don't live in california, new york, or whatever 5 fucking cities all the bands flock to for a "usa tour". My cheki winnings for this year are: 1 sena (to have a full set of the band), 3 ricko. My rickos #myrickos. I will always love the songs venom and eclipse and oh did i get venom. I stand stage left because it's easier to get a good spot on the side, even though i would have loved a front spot near ricko. He's like a cockatoo, during the show his hair would stick right up from all the headbanging like a sulphur crested cockatoo. One thing that was nice with having jiluka not be just an opener was zyean's drum solo!! God i love drummers guys. I think i need to start learning drums. Ricko i hope was having fun as every time the band would turn around for a quick break, the crowd would get quiet, then ricko would do any small hand gesture to get everyone screaming again😭. Do sena and boogie even need to be mentioned? They had these huge box fans on the floor of the stage so they could aura farm and have their beautiful long hair flowing. I hope my beautiful hide plush son got in the photo. Jiluka please keep coming back to georgia forever and ever we love you!!! But mybe next time don't have the world's strongest lights pointed directly at my face. I felt like i was going into the light many times.
