Two year anniversary of Copper’s adoption
Long time lurker (and admirer), first time poster, but I wanted to share a photo of my best friend Copper girl on our two year anniversary. She was training to be a drug detection dog and fortunately for me, she got fired at six months old because she was more interested in cuddles and belly rubs. Two days later, she was dropped off at my house, and my life changed.
Copper is the first dog I have owned as an adult, and it has been a very steep learning curve. Given she largely grew up in a prison environment, it was a whole new world for her too. It has taken a lot of commitment and training, and I have turned to this sub for advice countless times, but she is truly the most wonderful friend I could ask for. I went through a pretty difficult period where I was struggling with my mental health, and she was quite literally my reason for getting out of bed. Fortunately I am in a much better place now, but I will be forever grateful that she came into my life when she did. Vizslas truly are something else 💛
