Husband and I want a Sphynx! Guide us!

This is my sisters cat- Drago and we have fallen madly and obsessively in love with him! Let me start by saying we are not cat people. Our son has a beautiful long hair sweet cat who we adore and I am fine with her but I have allergies and tend to get itchy and sneeze with short hair cats. Enter this fascinating gargoyle! We recently visited my sister who has this beautiful kitty and he followed us around purring and seeking our affection. No reaction from me at all! I was totally itching and sneeze free! We love animals and have a terrier mix, Ginger who hates other humans but absolutely loves cats and other small dogs. She is a rescue and needs a playmate and my husband actually said we should look for a breeder!

We live in Arizona and have so many questions!

Most importantly- we have always rescued but my sister says there are so reputable breeders out there. Does anyone have a reputable breeder recommendation in Arizona?

He is not oily or stinky at all! They live in Florida and she mentioned to really find out if bathing them often in Arizona is smart given how dry it is. Anyone have any experience?

The age old question- male or female? Everything I have read says they are both equally affectionate. Give us suggestions?

What type of food should they be fed to be kept in optimal teeth and overall healthy conditions?

Any specific idiosyncrasies that we need to be super aware of as new cat people? Our kitten will never be an outside cat as AZ is not outdoor friendly and we would never! We spoil our babies to no end!

Should we find, when we get our kitten a special vet? How can we maintain their teeth? Any inherited medical issues to be aware of?

Sorry for the long post but we want to be patient and thoughtful and really want a black one! We just want to set ourselves up for success and appreciate all the advice!

I will update this post when we decide on our baby! 😍
