How do you approach post-mitigation radon testing?
I’m curious how different people in the industry handle this.
After a radon mitigation system is installed, there are a few different ways a follow-up radon test can be handled. In some cases (non real estate transactions), the homeowner is provided with a charcoal test kit and instructions for deploying it themselves.
For those of you who work with radon testing, mitigation, or home inspections, what do you typically recommend for the follow-up measurement?
Is homeowner-deployed testing the most common approach you’ve seen, or do you generally prefer having a measurement professional handle the test?
I’m a radon measurement professional in the Philadelphia area, and I’m interested in hearing how others approach the post-mitigation side of the process.
No criticism intended — I’m just curious about how different professionals handle it in different places and what you think works best.
