Please, for the love of god, leash your dogs.
I have to scream into the void about this.
My dogs and I have been attacked twice in 6 days while out walking by dogs who escaped their yards/enclosures. In the first instance, one of my dogs was bit and needed stitches. The second time I was prepared with pepper spray and managed to avoid any serious physical harm.
Tonight while out walking we see not 1, or 2, but 3 dogs off leash with their owners. Each time my heart started racing and we didn't proceed until the owners acknowledged us and made some move to control/distract/put away their dogs.
I don't care how well you think your dog is trained. No dog has perfect recall 100% of the time. Ask me how I know. I don't care how friendly you think your dog is. I'M NOT.
If you see a 5 ft tall lady walking a pair of senior beagles on the northwest side of town, put your dog in the house or on a leash, because if it decides to ignore your commands and charge at my dogs, it's getting a face full of mace, I do not give a flying fuck anymore.
