Do you use TCI? If so do you adapt it?

Hello everyone. First year teacher here. My school uses TCI as their curriculum of choice for social studies and it was heavily suggested to me that as a new teacher I should use it and I’ll be evaluated on how I use it. My question to those of you who are familiar with the curriculum is how do you implement it.

So for I have come up with
Monday- introduce a unit and give students the vocabulary
Tuesday- have the students read the sections.
Wednesday- work through the lesson activity
Thursday - continue working through the lesson activity
Friday- Take the Assessment.

I really have no idea if this is optimal or anything and really just curious if you just use the curriculum as is or if you adapt it. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Classroom Management Tips for a boy heavy class.

Hello everyone. Seeking advice again, this time to see if anyone has any tips for classroom management for a class of seniors taking economics. There are 23 boys and 5 girls. Luckily I know most of the class by name because my students teaching was at this school last year. Tomorrow will be the start of the second week of school.

Advice for how to get rid of the crazy echo in my classroom.

Hello Everyone! First year teacher here with a classroom that is very bare. As a result there is a crazy echo in my classroom. I want to be a good neighbor for the other people in my building and thought that it would be a worthwhile to get some sound dampening panels to place around my classroom. A quick internet check says they are not permissible by my state school inspection board. Any advice for what I can do to help reduce noise? I teach history and Econ and need my students to talk to each other most days.

Advice and Help with Econ.

Hello Everyone,
Brand new history teacher here just wanting to ask for some advice on teaching Econ. I will be teaching U.S. history and Econ. My student teaching was in a U.S. history class and APUSH class so I’ve just never really seen what a Econ class is like. Not since I took Econ myself at least. My school will be using a curriculum called TCI but no one In the department has any experience with it since it is new. Any advice on some projects that you’ve had success with just general pacing strategies would be greatly appreciated!
