A company hiring nearby wants me to use AI for a mini project. How do I differentiate myself from others?

For more context, they want me to code live using AI, and it’s a relatively short interview. I know it may seem obvious to some, but I’m curious as to any tips/tricks or must do things.

I’m sure Claude opus 4.8 could easily finish the mini project in 1 go. So I’m more worried about the competition, not whether or not I’m able to “ace” it.

Are there companies I can pay to work there?

I know it sounds kind of outrageous, but I remember a friend of mine in college paid for a summer internship and was able to get a job last year. I’ve been unemployed for 2 years but have been consistently doing projects, leetcode, interviews, and job apps. Currently at around 4200 applications.

I’m not complaining about it or doom and glooming, I just simply want to get experience but I can’t even get unpaid roles. For more context, I have a 3.6 overall gpa and attended one of the UCs here in California. Willing to relocate, any ideas?
