funded opportunities for international students?

hi everyone,

I’m currently a master’s student in Europe, and I’m seriously considering Australia for a future PhD in geography/urban studies. I’m a non-Australian citizen and was hoping to learn more about how funding typically works for international PhD students there.

I know about the Australian Government RTP scholarship, but I was wondering:

  • Is RTP basically the main pathway for fully funded PhDs (tuition + stipend) for international students?
  • Or are there other major funding schemes, university scholarships, or supervisor-funded positions that international students commonly receive?

I know PhDs can be very demanding, so I would only pursue one if it were fully funded.

I would really appreciate hearing from current PhD students, international students, or anyone familiar with the Australian HDR system!!!!

thanks a lot!!!!!!

advice for phd in australia (funding opportunities and immigration pathways)

hi everyone, I’m currently a master’s student in Europe and I’m seriously considering Australia (I'm a non-Australian citizen) for a future PhD in my field (geography/urban studies).

I wonder how common funded PhD positions are for international students in Australia. I know about the RTP scholarship, but is that basically the main pathway for full funding (tuition + stipend), or are there other major funding schemes/university scholarships I should know about??? I know that a PhD is really exhausting, so I wouldn’t want to take on a program without funding.

Secondly, does getting a PhD in Australia make it more favorable towards immigration? I am proficient in English (C2) and really love to immigrate to Australia as well!!!

Really appreciate hearing from current PhD students or anyone familiar with the Australian system. Thanks!

[UNIPD] ADMISSION FEE REFUND POSSIBILITY?

Hi guys, has anyone ever successfully gotten the deposit back? I decided not to study at Padua anymore, and I already paid the €208 in March, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to get a refund. Has anyone tried before?
