Found drowned in the base of a flower pot. About 4-5cm long. Some sort of cricket I assume. Tasmania.

These things are persistent and tenacious! I wave then off and they immediately return. They burrow into my cat's fur and even my hair. They're also tough and take a lot of force to swat. A simple hit will do nothing, you need to really squash them. I don't know if they bite but my cats absolutely hate them and are utterly miserable until I locate and remove them from their fur.
