Conflicted about people being told to /only/ read HR and TLG
On the one hand, I get it. The show's MCs are Hollanov and the story is mostly their books. They're the most popular books anyway. And not all people are interested in the love stories of the other characters or they have tropes they don't like. Hell, there are a lot of interconnected-yet-standalone series I've picked and chose which books to read and which to pass. I'm also not saying we must tell people they HAVE to read all the books no matter what.
But on the other hand... It feels a bit like a disservice. I don't know, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see people recommending others to just ignore the other books.Like, setting the others up for failure before the reader even tried them. Like implying they're a waste of time when people can do with HR and TLG.
Maybe it's just the way people say it. The difference between: "You don't need to read them all but I recommend giving them a try" and "Only read HR and TLG!" Does any of this make any sense? I want to read what you think.
