Please tell me I’m not going to die
I’m scheduled for an IUD insertion tomorrow and I’ve heard so many horror stories that I’ve kind of psyched myself out! My doctor prescribed Valium and misoprostol and told me to take ibuprofen. Will that be enough? I’m legit fully freaking out!! Someone please tell me they did it and it was fine because all I’m hearing is women who passed out/blacked out/puked and were traumatized from the pain.
Edit: So the general consensus seems to be it hurts A LOT and so now I’m just as scared as I was when I posted this 😭😅🤣
Final Update: thanks everyone for sharing your stories! That Valium made me woozy and happy and the only thing that hurt was the numbing shot. I was laughing and chatting with my doctor, nurse and Boyfriend the entire time! It was definitely uncomfortable because of the speculum but pain wise it was totally fine. Just got home, having very very minor cramps and ready to take a nap! So for anyone else who might be worried, take it from me- don’t watch the horror stories on TikTok! Just talk to your doctor and let them reassure you. You’re gonna be ok!!
