Who was the best general/commander of the Sengoku period and why?

Hi guys, I’ve been getting more into the military side of the period and I was thinking about whose campaigns were worth looking into, though I’m worried I might get more generic answers then. So instead I’m wondering who you guys consider to be the best and why, that way I can see the best of the best.

Why did Takeda Katsuyori choose to attack at Nagashino?

I’ve heard many people sympathetic to Katsuyori, which I don’t understand as my understanding of Nagashino was that he willingly drove some of the best cavalry in Japan against a larger dug in enemy force, against the advice of his top generals who had served with his father for years, for no reason but his own overconfidence and desire to escape his father’s shadow? I have tried thinking about and looking for other reasonable explanations, though I cannot find any logical reason for it.

Are those who are sympathetic to him just wrong, or is there an actual valid explanation?

I’m sure this question has been asked before, though i’ve tried looking and found nothing, so if that’s true feel free to link me to the post.

I think the question is self explanatory. What went wrong for the Japanese during the Imjin War? I have tried researching the Imjin War on my own, but finding reliable information on it has proven difficult. Particularly concerning the Chinese and Korean armies, as I could find more on the Japanese, though even then i’m not sure how much of this stuff i’ve read is even true.

Thanks!
