No security deposit returned in 15 days

We lived in a garden suite underneath some very noisy, and in our opinion, disrespectful landlords. We ended up moving due to their lack of care for repairs for the place, and we ended up having the suite, professionally cleaned, and painted a majority of it to ensure that we would receive our damaged deposit back without any concerns.
When we did the walk-through with the Landlord, they were very happy and we signed, saying that there were no issues and now the landlord was going to return the money. In the back of our head, we knew that they were going to try and put off paying us given how cheap they had been in the past.
We have all proper documentation saying that we provided our forwarding address as well as our email and that both parties agreed there was no money to be kept. On day 18 the landlord tried to send us the original deposit and we said no we are now pursuing the double amount and he freaked out.
He tells us we can take him to court and that he doesn’t think he will have to pay it. We called the tenancy board and of course they cannot give definitive answers, but said all of our documentation liens heavy on our side.

Has anybody ever gone this way and collected double? Had our landlords been much kinder and respectful we would’ve just accepted their payment 18 days later however if we have this opportunity, we are going to go for it since we had a very bad experience dealing with them delayed on many other issues

New to town young family

Came from big city with young kids for quieter simpler life. Both from small rural towns and looking forward to integrating into community. Stay at home mom wondering where to meet people? Specific mom walking groups? Popular libraries? Parks? Facebook groups?

Moving soon with kids

Moving from a big city to chilliwack next month, just purchased a home. We’re both from small towns and very familiar with Chilliwack so not worried about transition
Though I’m curious what groups/communities/networks/gatherings etc are happening in the area?! I’m sure once we get situated we’ll met people but in the meantime I’d like to make the transition smooth for the kids and us (I’m SAHM)
Where we were had a very active mom Facebook page and weekly library meet ups, kids park dates, a drop in play centre etc. so I assume that’s going on here, just haven’t found loads online yet.
kids are 1 and 3.

Thanks in advance!

Anyways, we are trying to negotiate getting a bit off the price, etc. so I’m not looking for comments on that however I am interested if anybody knows of any local companies who do installations? Any recommendations or referrals, etc.
Natural gas.

Has anybody ever gotten a private MRI done in Vancouver? I have been waiting in the system since I’m still on a waitlist with a sport medicine doctor however in substantial pain and debating going private.
Just wondering if people found the radiologist report substantial? Worth it, etc.?

Finally after 3 years and failed EVERYY(prp, prolotherapy, numerous hand physios, custom braces etc) finally opted for surgery and was told I have a second/separate compartment for the tendons and that’s likely why the conservative measures didn’t work.

Now 6 months postpartum with second baby and having pain in other Hand!! Ugh.

Debating going right to surgery

Did you have this separate compartment that you know about? A quick Google search said 80% of dequervain cases come from the fact there’s 2 smaller sheaths vs 1 large.

I always wondered why other people had zero issues holding/carrying babies when it hurts me so bad. Not to mention I am physically strong and lift weights constantly before. No shortage of strength
