Hi, I am getting EE in MANIT and wanted to ask some stuff

1. I've been reading about the ragging cases, Its kinda scary because of how extreme they seem, but I wanna know how extreme they really are ;-;

2. Is it mandatory to stay in the hostel? I plan on being a day scholar

3. Is the coursework for EE tedious in the college? How strict are the profs and stuff. The placements seem nice.
