Loaded test ride

Fully loaded test ride with the alpine kit 5 season tent, -23c bag, and plenty of spare warm stuff. 35km in the stormiest of storms with a loop around some local xc mtb trails. All essential equipment stayed dry and the flask was hot several hours and many cups of tea later.
Very pleased.

Planning first snow ride

I’m in Australia and snow is hard to come by, so I’m planning my first snow ride. Starting in an evening when it’s colder and having multiple stop points at huts, and I have some above alpine experience in multi-day XC skiing and snowshoeing trips.

The bike is pretty well ready with a Surly ICT, on Johnny 5s (studded), and with pogies and boots but what will I need, if anything, that’s different to a snowshoe or ski trip?

Cheers.

Wheels from Nextie

Hi folks,
I’m looking to go wider on my tins and just considering a brew set of wheels, has anyone had experience with Nextie building the whole wheel. It seems very convenient. Interested in the communities experience.
Cheers

Over ten years skinny, I’m fat again.

Just over ten years ago I sold my Pugsley, and I regret it. Now I have an ICT, and I’m a happy rider again. This is her stock on a 43km gravel ride.

Okay, I need help.

So, I maybe promised my 6 year old a jet ski and a helicopter. We have the helicopter and have been having a great time sailing somewhere and doing a couple of loops round in the GC. He spots the landing zone, any bugs to zap, and the elec house. I just cannot get the quest for the jet ski to spawn. I’m on the island with “the signal” quest to get the 4 units to open the door, through the underwater tunnel. Is this the right island?
At a loss, but loving the gyro copter.

Parker 75 Flame

The most recent arrival to my Parker collection.

I am amazed by how shiny and light this is. My first gold nib, too.

It is amazing to write with, so smooth and effortless. I was worried about it being an extra fine, but it has a nice, if a little thin, line weight to it.
