This game has no business being THAT good

It's nearly been 10 years since this game has been announced, back in 2017. I promised myself I would wait for 1.0, but yesterday, I finally decided I could not wait any longer. Turns out I'm even more hyped for final release now.

How good is this game like wth????! Such satisfying progression systems. And the gamefeel. And the art. And the ATMOSPHERE. Probably the most underrated rogue-lite. Unique flavour really.

Remnant 2 appreciation post

This game is lowkey incredible. I liked Remnant 1 quite a bit. When I started Remnant 2, it felt meh. Hub is bad. Main story is bad, dialogues are tedious.

And then it fucking CLICKED for me. Main story is bad, but it turns out to be a good thing. Let me explain.

Thanks to this vague, McGuffin driven, bland story, devs felt free to give us varied biomes, with standalone stories and universes. So much visual variety, unique atmospheres, huge bestiary. Horrific and creepy parts of the games are particularly well executed.

And OH GOD so much secrets, exploration feels nice thanks to the level design and rewarding with all those secrets and puzzles and all... They decided to not make it a looter shooter and they found a good sweet spot. Enough progression mechanics (weapon upgrades, weapon mod, shards, etc...) with a MEASURED emphasis on loot.

Gameplay and build complement each other. Build is important, but you have to play the game.

Remnant 2 is so unique, I love it. Souls-like with guns is such an understatement, Remnant is a genra of his own.
