So, these are the official previews and synopsis that were published on Toynews in 2004. Pictures 1-5 are from the official preview of Dreamwave, which they had on their website in December 2004; 6-7 - from the announcement of the 1st issue on toynews. Synopsis:

With the Helghast onslaught ripping through his friends, Rico is forced to make a weighty decision: retreat with the few men left alive or make a last stand against the unstoppable Helghast Elite! I'm still curious about what the abbreviation "ALAT", which is specified in the script, is in the Killzone universe. The article I read says so:
"ALAT. In the Killzone universe, the abbreviation ALAT has not been found before. There is "ADAT, ATAC", but not "ALAT". The Helgan army has a division into army aviation and the Air Force, but it has never been explicitly stated how they designate the army. The abbreviation probably comes from the French Aviation légère de l'Armée de terre — army light aircraft. In the real world, the "ALAT" is a branch of the French Army."
