if you still want to get a pre-game buzz or grab some food before kickoff, there are still some good options nearby. the end zone at the hilton santa clara is hosting a huge official world cup tailgate celebration with delicious food, a live dj, and a great fan atmosphere just steps from the stadium.

another great option is the american outlaws pre-game tailgate party. they are doing a big gathering with burritos, sandwiches, a drum circle, and then a massive march to the stadium starting at 3:30 pm. it is open to everyone, whether you are a member of their supporters group or not.

there are also plenty of local bars in san jose and downtown santa clara if you want to avoid the immediate area around the stadium entirely and just take the vta light rail or caltrain in. just keep in mind that the stadium itself will be super strict about no parking lot tailgating, so do not try to sneak it in.
