Just a question about loan sharks?

If I borrow R5k with a 50% interest, meaning I will be paying R7500 come month end. So if I give him only the interest and borrow another R5k, how much can I expect to pay come next month? He says I should pay him R15k; I thought it was supposed to be R12,500. Please help me with loan sharks, maths.
