Made my first ever video essay about how War of the Worlds still freaks me out over 20 years later (please excuse the rough edges)

Heya all!,

Bit of a side project this one, I've just uploaded my first ever YouTube video and this sub felt like the right place to actually share it rather than just leave it languishing with 4 views.

It's about megalophobia (the fear of things that are just too big to process) and how the tripods in War of the Worlds (2005) properly did that to me as a kid. Still can't watch it without feeling a bit off, which is basically the entire reason this video exists.

I go through a few other films that give me the same feeling too (Iron Giant, Godzilla, Pacific Rim, the AT-ATs in Empire Strikes Back) but WOTW is the one that started it, and the one the whole thing builds towards. It's under 10 minutes :)

Full disclosure, it's my first proper edit so it's a bit rough round the edges in places, pacing's not perfect and I'm still finding my feet with the software. But I put a lot of care into the script so hoping it's watchable despite the rough bits.

Curious whether War of the Worlds did this to anyone else here, or if it was something else entirely for you.

EDIT - Added the runtime and thumbnail :)
