Fifth consecutive sellout of Te Kaha. This time a week before the game
That’s every single game day that has occurred at the new stadium. Great to see this kind of turnout for the supposedly dead Super rugby
And with that, the final Whitelock brother has retired from the game.
“After a lot of reflection, I have decided that the time is right for me to retire from playing professional rugby.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunities rugby has given me and the journey it has taken me on. Spending the last 7 seasons with Section Paloise has been a huge honor. To play a small part in the club's progression and growth is something I am very proud of. My family and I have fallen in love with Pau, the Bearn and its people, making it a home away from home.
To my team mates past and present, thank you. Playing alongside you all has created bonds that go far beyond the field. To Section Paloise and the staff, thank you for the opportunity and belief in me to play a sport | love, it has truly been an amazing life experience.
Lastly to the fans, thank you for the unwavering support. You have been incredible and bring the Stade du Hameau alive every weekend. Although the next few games will be my last and my time in Pau is coming to an end there is still a job to be done, to accomplish our objectives and create a new history for the club.
As tor my next chapter this is still yet to be decided, but l am looking forward to what comes next.
Thank you
Luke Whitelock”
The final member of my favourite rugby family has retired 😢
NZ Rugby confirm that Mo’unga and Frizell won’t be available for selection for tour of South Africa
While I’m not sure they would or should come in to a match day side right away this seems like a stupid decision. Like they’ve already signed a contract with NZR what’s a season of NPC gonna do?
