Finally finished. Took about a year (and two copies). Loved it, but got frustrated a half dozen times, took a break, and read other books but always came back.

More power to the people that get through it in a few weeks/couple months but personally I loved my experience reading Infinite Jest- a bit like meeting up with an old, annoying but brilliant friend that you would get sick of after awhile but loved deeply.

Overall: 9 (maybe 9.5)/10. The last few pages, and last sentence specifically, are some of my favorite in all of literature. Maybe it’ll get elevated to a 10/10 on my second read through…. in 10 years.

Wish DFW was still around and writing, RIP.
