Use for creamy milk?

Hey all, I have a delightful problem. I ended up with 4 gallons of free 'milk' from a local dairy. Very exciting! The snag is, its VERY high in cream because it was allowed to sit a while and then they poured off a lot of the skin milk at the bottom.

So I have 4 gallons of maybe 6% maybe light cream? Who knows!

Other than skimming off cream for ice cream and butter any ideas for a simple cheese that can be made with super creamy milk?

Thanks 😊

Pimples on teat?

Had anyone had a doe that develops pimples on her teats? I've got a first freshener who keeps getting them and its making the poor girl really uncomfortable while milking.

I'm 90% sure it's not mastitis. Her udder isnt swollen or hot, the milk looks normal and she doesnt have a fever.

But shes been getting a series of these big zits that form and then subside after 3-4 days.

It makes milking hard because its uncomfortable for her so she's kicky. I'd love advice, or just to hear if anyone else has seen this!

Purina goat parlor 16?

I'd love to hear what folks think about this stuff that my feed store recommended. https://www.purinamills.com/goat-feed/products/detail/purina-dairy-goat-parlor-16

I've got a first freshener who is being a picky eater and has gotten bonier than I would like.

We have a great dairy grain mix from a local mill that the rest of our goats go bonkers for, but she barely picks at it. We also give her alfalfa pellets but I don't think just replacing all her grain ration with alfalfa is going to get her the right nutrition balance.

Soon she'll have access to lots of fresh grass and weedy forage but I'm trying to find something to get some more meat back on her bones in the meantime.

She also is not a big fan of any of the types of local hay we can get right now. She's eating it, but not enough. She loved what we had all winter, but that has run out. We're still trying to find something she'll like but it's been a struggle.

Advice is appreciated!
