I (40M) have been lately contemplating the idea of joining a Third Order, leaning towards the Augustinians. The only issue for me is that they aren't as active in the Baltimore area, which is where I am from. And because I have children that I would like to see going to church and receiving the Sacraments, it seems like being in a diocesan parish is more logical.

But I wonder though: could I be a member of a Third Order and a diocesan parish at the same time, or would that be a tough go for one reason or another?

Looking for recommendations on left-wing oriented Catholic publishers. I know about Orbis Books thanks to the Robert Ellsberg episode of "The Spiritual Life." That's what got me thinking and reaching out through this post. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
