Tailfin Journey Rack not centered on Canyon Grizl CF9

I noticed something strange during the installation process of my tailfin journey rack. For this installation I used an M12x1.0mm thru-axle, and a SRAM UDH XX/XO adaptor (my bike is equipped with SRAM RED XPLR 13 SPEED).

The thru-axle and the SRAM adaptor were recommended by the "axle finder" tool on the Tailfin website. And I double-checked the adaptor, it is the XX/XO type that should be compatible with the SRAM RED XPLR 13 SPEED groupset.

When all components are installed, and while using the 2 larger axle spacers on the thru axle, it appears that the rack isn't centered on the bike, it is offset slightly to the right. When examining this closer it seems that the rack can't move to the left (to be centered), because the SRAM RED XPLR derailleur mount is blocking it from doing so.

Now my question is, is this amount of offset (+- 5mm) compromising the load bearing capacity / disitribution on my bike? I intend to use this rack to mount my job gear on daily rides to work that are 25km long (50km/day). It would be a shame if my bike gets damaged by this offset of the rack while it is clearly stated that this rack is compatible with my bike (Canyon Grizl CF9 model 2025). The Grizl is even shown on Tailfins marketing pictures of the Journey rack.

I attached some pictures to make myself clearer. I already contacted Tailfin about this, but haven't received a reply.

Thankyou for your replies in advance!

New Bike Day: Grizl CF9 w/ECLIPS

Love the colour, put on some Pirelli P Zero Race 40mm. The hardest tire I've ever installed but really like the looks.

Frame size is XS, I've put on a longer stem (70mm) available on the Canyon website.

Canyon Grizl CF rear rack + mudguards possible?

Hi all,

I have a question about the Grizl CF9. When I asked Canyon whether the rear rack and defend mudguards could be combined into the same setup, they said it could not be done.

They recommended a Tailfin or Ortlieb rack in combination with the Canyon mudguards. But, after scrolling around the internet I found this video of this kind man.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8Pn2bOP7Mc

He is using both the Canyon rear rack and mudguards on his Grizl. Both the rack and mudguards are using the same rear fork mounting points.

Does anyone know if this is really possible without having the risk of breaking something, like the mounting points or anything else?

Anyways, thankyou for the help. This has to be my 100th question regarding this bike, but I want to be sure I make the right choice, thankyou again for the replies.
