Delay when taking pictures

Hello all,

I recently received the dumber mini, and I've been very satisfied with it overall.

I only have one problem, when I take a picture through the camera app, the picture is only taken 6-7s after clicking on the D-pad button, which is really inconvenient. I have checked, the self-timer is properly disabled.

There is no problem when using the camera through an other app, and taking a video through the default app works instantly as well, so I guess it's a bug of some kind.

Did anyone else encounter this? Could this be solved?

Otherwise, it's really a great device with a great OS, my only other remark would be that the audio quality is not that great, with the speaker saturating quite easily (just using the alarm to wake up makes it saturate a bit).

HelloChinese speaking exercises?

Hello,

I just bought back a HelloChinese subscription after not having one for years, as I completed the initial course back then when there were much less lessons.

I just finished the first unit of the Intermediate 1 of the new main course, but there was not a single speaking exercise throughout the unit.

Has this feature been completely removed from the app? Is it not available for the new main course? Or are there much less speaking exercises than there used to? Or am I doing something wrong?

I remember that it was very good a few years ago, so I am a bit confused by this. Did anyone experience this as well? I do have the speaking exercises option enables in the app's settings.

It's honestly quite disapointing if it got removed.

How to safety get rid of a power bank in China ?

Hello everyone,

I've been living in China (in Xuhui, Shanghai) for a few years but I never got into this situation so I'm not sure what's the proper way to deal with it.

I have an old lithium batterie power bank that I haven't used in a while, that I found out became quite inflated.

Where should I bring this power bank to safely get rid of it ? I couldn't find any relevant information on Google since most people only talk about the updated policies regarding power banks at the airport...

I need to go on a trip tomorrow for work so I don't have much time to get rid of it before leaving.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Edit: it should be "safely" in the title
