I have a trip planned next month but my heart isn’t feeling right staying at a hotel or Airbnb with water while there are locals who’s water is being rationed and cut off for several days at a time. It just feels wrong for tourists to come because it seems like the hotel zones/areas water are prioritized? (Not sure if that’s true so kind of asking?)
However, I do understand that tourists bring money and can help the local economy. I would greatly appreciate hearing from Puerto Rico’s residents and locals. How do you feel about tourism right now? Are we hurting more than helping by visiting? Are there things that we can do to actually help Puerto Ricans while we are there?
